Who this policy covers
This policy covers personal information handled through wirelessguard.co.nz by its operator, publishing under the name Wireless Guard ("we" and "us"). The site publishes static information pages. It does not offer visitor accounts, take payments or send contact-form entries to a site server.
Information handled
When a page is requested, the hosting or content-delivery provider may process technical data such as an IP address, request time, page address, referring page, browser or device details, and security events. The data collected and its retention depend on that provider's configuration and terms. Wireless Guard does not currently add advertising trackers or analytics scripts or intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting or delivery provider may use technical tools needed to serve or protect the site under its own settings and policy.
You can browse without providing personal information. If you choose to contact us, the contact form opens your own email application with a draft. The site does not receive or store that draft. If you send it, Wireless Guard receives the email address and the details you chose to include; your email provider and the recipient's email provider may also process the message.
Why information is used
Information in an email is used to respond to your question, consider a correction, maintain a relevant correspondence record, protect the site from misuse, or meet a legal obligation. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for those purposes. We do not sell personal information.
How long it is kept
Email correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, keep an appropriate correction or security record, or meet a legal requirement. Hosting and delivery logs are controlled by the relevant provider and are retained under that provider's settings and policy.
Information received indirectly
Wireless Guard does not currently seek personal information about visitors from other organisations. If personal information is received indirectly, we will take reasonable steps to notify the affected person as required by Information Privacy Principle 3A of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, unless a statutory exception applies.
Security and incidents
We take reasonable steps appropriate to this static site to protect information we handle. No internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. If a privacy breach meets the legal threshold for notification, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.
Access and correction
You may ask whether Wireless Guard holds personal information about you and request access to it or correction. Email kiaora@wirelessguard.co.nz with enough detail to identify the information and the change requested. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity before releasing information. If you do not provide contact details, we may be unable to respond.
Other websites
Some pages link to external regulators, service providers or support organisations. Those websites operate under their own privacy statements and practices. Check their policies before providing information there.
Questions or complaints
For a privacy question or complaint, contact kiaora@wirelessguard.co.nz. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, which explains access and correction rights and how to raise a concern.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated if the site's features or information-handling practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
